4-H Super Saturday

Are you confused about how to start your 4-H exhibit? Do you have a question? Would you like guidance? The 4-H Super Saturday Workshop is the place to go for help, guidance and answers. Through the workshops listed below, 4-Hers will gain insight as to what they need to do to complete an exhibit. In some cases, you may even walk away with a completed project.
Please RSVP with the name(s) of the workshop you will attend by April 13 so that we have adequate supplies prepared. Based upon the number of participants, we may offer two sessions of a workshop. You may be assigned a time to attend between 9 am – 12 noon. We will have some supplies available: double stick tape, paper, cricut, paper cutter, construction paper, rubber cement, etc. Below are descriptions and times for each workshop:
Microwave Foods 9:00 – 10:30 am
With today’s fast paced society, the microwave has become an important appliance to prepare food for families. Learn how to make fudge and bar cookies in your microwave. Participants will measure ingredients, mix, and bake in the microwave. Ingredients will be provided. Participants will take a sample of fudge and cookies home.
Floriculture 9:00 – 10:30 am
Love flowers but don’t have a clue how to arrange a bouquet? Bring your own vase, no more than 9 inches tall by 3 inches wide, neck of opening of vase not to exceed 1.5 inches. Vase should be clear or white in color. We will provide the flowers, instructions, and you can take home a floral bouquet! For those enrolled in division 2 and above, we will provide fresh flowers and we ask that you bring the other items you will need for an exhibit as outlined in the 4-H Handbook.
Crafts 9:00 – 10:30 am
The crafts project offers a lot of variety from baskets, models, to fine arts and more. Have an interest in Painted Canvas? We’ll provide the canvas, brushes and paint for you to complete a basic craft painting. (Limit of 10 participants for painted canvas.) Not interested in painting a canvas, bring your crafts for suggestions or ask questions.
Giftwrapping 9:00 – 10:30 am
Do you wish you could wrap gift packages neatly? Bring a box or two, wrapping paper and ribbon and let us help you start wrapping like a professional. Look at your division requirements and bring the supplies and you could walk away from this workshop with your project completed.
Forestry & Wildlife 10:30 – 12 noon
Are you a nature lover that would like to learn more about nature? The Forestry and Wildlife projects were created just for you! We can help you design your exhibit for the fair, come and learn some of the tricks to making a great poster. You’ll go home with a project started for County Fair! We will have laptops, internet and paper available for research, if needed.
Consumer Education 10:30 – 12 noon
We will have laptops, internet, and paper to help you get started on your Consumer Education Beef, Dairy, Lamb or Pork projects. Learn poster basics and how to make your poster pop!
Photography 10:30 – 12 noon
Bring pictures that you have taken and we will help you lay out your poster board for your exhibit. Our photography superintendent and older 4-Hers will help you learn a quality photo from one that needs a little improvement. Bring your camera and take inside and outside pictures.
Scrapbooking 10:30 – 12 noon
Would you love to scrapbook, but don’t know where to start? Bring a few pages of scrapbook paper, your pictures and scrapbooking supplies and we will help you get started. We will have some supplies, a cricut machine, stamps and lots of knowledge!
